The Game

The rule is diabolically simple: 98 cards to put on 4 piles, 2 ascending, 2 descending.

Only one way to reverse the direction of a stack: to play a card exactly higher / lower than 10 at the top. But the problem is that each player has cards in hand, must play at least 2 during his turn and can not reveal the contents of his hand.

Players can chat, but just to say things like « do not play on this pile » or « not too big here, please ». The task seems impossible at first and the suspense is present until the last card. The Game will immediately appeal to fans of cooperative games.

But why will it please others?

In general, 2 reasons rule out some players from the cooperation game:

– The game becomes a business game where a leader decides for others (Pandemic, Scotland Yard, Andor). – Team play provokes tensions over the inability or reproach of its partners (Hanabi, Tarot, Bridge). The Game avoids the 2 pitfalls: – We do not see the cards of his partners and therefore we can not play for them: impossible to have a leader. – We do not see the cards of his partners and therefore we never know if they could have played better. Each player will progress, but without the blame of his experienced partners on the way. The Game (despite a cover that is reminiscent of a game for gamers) works perfectly with seniors or / and with children from 7 years.
